for McGill

Big John Naponick loomed large as McGill University Redmen won two weekend games to remain on top of the Quebec University Athletic Association basketball conference.

Naponick hooped 37 points Saturday to pace his squad in their 93-65 win over Sherbrooke Vert et Or and Friday night scored 32 points to lead the Redmen to an 84-62 win over Laval University Rouge et Or.

On another league game Saturday, Laval drubbed Royal Military College Redmen 79-68 to stay a game behind McGill.  Loyola Warriors defeated Queen's University Golden Gaels 62-51 Saturday in an exhibition game.

McGill now has three wins in four outings and six points, two ahead of Laval and four ahead of Loyola.
